President’s Message – January 2018

Welcome to 2018.

I would like to thank the Chapter for giving me the opportunity to represent you as President on the Assiniboia Chapter of NIGP for the next two years. I have been on the Executive for a number of years, in many positions. I wish to thank the past executive: Dave Gower, Doug Zimmer, Flora Melenchenko, Daphne Veich, Lori-Ann Litzenberger and Cheryl Thompson for all of their work in 2017. Especially Dave Gower as our outgoing President. I have big shoes to fill. We had a lot of fun and a bit of scrambling but it was a lot of fun. I look forward to working with this group again over the next year. With that we have a few areas which we do not have help. The time commitment is very small and many hands make light work. Please let me know if you can help us out.

Just a bit of background for you. I have been in several roles in purchasing thought out my career. I was working at the City of Regina and was seconded into a role in Stationary Stores. I loved the job and started night classes to continue in the field. From there I moved up to an Acquisitions clerk and then Buyer which is when I became a CPPB. My Career path led me to SAHO (now 3sHealth), EHealth and now the Ministry of Health. I know without my formal education and continued seminars and education like the opportunities we facilitate with NIGP Assiniboia Chapter my path would have been much different.

My goal in this position is to continue to provide the education and information to our members need for them to succeed on their path.

All the Best to you all in 2018,
